Oarai Isosaki Shrine and Kami-Iso Torii
The Oarai Isosaki Shrine and Kami-Iso Torii are officially designated as sites of cultural significance in Ibaraki Prefecture.
Since ancient times, the gods of these shrines have been worshipped as guardians of domestic and maritime safety.
Located nearby are the Takahama Kyoshi, three major monuments and the Maritime Museum.

Ibaraki Prefectural Oarai Aquarium is an aquarium that is home to a wide range of sea creatures from around the world.
The aquarium has the largest number of species of sharks in Japan, so an image of a shark is used in the aquarium’s logo.
The aquarium also features around 20,000 fish of 80 different species.
These include fish and shellfish that live in the deep waters of Japan, which are contained in the largest sunfish tank in Japan.

There are two dolphin statues called “Meeting Bells” near the entrance of the aquarium.
